ABOUT RAINBOW

Quality Management Mission and Vision Statement

Rainbow Bridge Community Services is dedicated to providing drug and alcohol rehab, mental health, and dual diagnosis treatment services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender adults. The program's primary purpose is to assist the patient in achieving a positive sense of self and improved quality of life.

The philosophy is based on the following beliefs:
Emotional, mental, and addictive disorders are primary diseases from which people can and do recover. Recovery is possible in an atmosphere which is free from judgment, fear, and discrimination; and where the individual needs of the patient are paramount. Each person, supported by others, can discover, accept, and utilize a lifelong recovery program, as suggested in Alcoholics Anonymous, Crystal Meth Anonymous, and other twelve-step programs.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender individuals deserve treatment services conducted in an atmosphere where issues can be addressed, freely and openly, with professionals who have special sensitivity, experience, and expertise. Special attention to issues of Homophobia, HIV, AIDS, Gay/Lesbian identity, history, heritage, and pride is an integral part of providing quality service.

Mental, emotional, and addictive disorders affect others in the person's life. The support of significant others is crucial to the treatment process. Rainbow Bridge Community Services recognizes the true definition of family to include family of choice and family of origin.

Mental, emotional, and addictive disorders do not occur in isolation from other problems, nor does recovery occur without addressing many issues intertwined in the disease process. The Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender community has been devastated by grief and loss due to the AIDS pandemic; and the problem of homophobia and heterosexism throughout society has caused great emotional pain. Helping the patient cope with and heal from these traumas is of primary concern.

Rainbow Bridge Community Services is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care. The staff are pioneers with dedication, excellence, and a personal commitment to improving the lives of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender individuals. Our vision is a community with pride, self-acceptance, and the strength to transcend the bigotry and intolerance which destroy the core of our spirit.

The goal of the Quality Management Program is to ensure that the mission and vision of Rainbow Bridge Community Services is quantifiable and an indicator of the success of the mission. The Quality Management Program is designed to ensure that state, county, local and other contractual requirements and obligations are met. The Quality Management Committee will meet quarterly with the purpose of reviewing Quarterly Management Audit, Consumer Comment Survey, to discuss actions needed based on consumer comments, and to discuss necessary improvements. The Quality Management Committee consists of the Vice President of Programming, Program Director, Psychologist and lead counselor.
